10-Minute Chia Seed Jam
Add this to plain yogurt, toast, pancakes, or even your next cheese board!
Ingredients:
2 cups frozen berries
4 tbsp. chia seeds
2 tbsp. flax seeds
1 tbsp. lemon juice
Optional: honey or date syrup to taste
Stove Top Instructions:
Heat frozen berries in a small saucepan over medium heat until the berries are heated through and begin to break down and bubble. Use a spoon to mash the berries to your desired consistency.
Stir in the chia seeds, flax seeds, and lemon juice until combined. Then taste, and stir in 1-2 tablespoons of honey or date syrup if needed.
Remove from heat and let cool for 5 minutes. The jam will thicken as it cools.
Enjoy immediately, or transfer to a sealed container and refrigerate for up to 1 week, or freeze for up to 3 months.
Microwave Instructions (this version takes less than 5 minutes!):
Microwave the frozen berries until they are heated through and begin to break down.
Then add the chia seeds, flax seeds, lemon juice, & optional date syrup/honey! It will give you the same result in less time.
